Made up of analogue-created collages, taking designs cues from organic textures and an earthy palette, Mark Greig has put together this original carmine colour-way patchwork piece, mounted onto an A2 background.
The artwork takes select collages from Mark's original series of 28 individual pieces, designed for each song contribution to our Charity Advent Calendar 2020.
Along with the contributed tracks from the compilation, this artwork is only available until the end of April 2021.
All proceeds will be donated and split between You Make It and Project Protect.

about
"Well, here’s a freestyle with Alex Adetiba on guitar and me on a modest D5 dynamic mic made over the summer. I went on to explore in post production and asked homie Isobella Burnham to add her bass, which just grounded it in so much warmth. For me it opens interesting questions about allowing your musicality to play vs crafting each movement of a journey, and where you can learn or capture interesting things through improv that may eventually become refined - but still you can't always reach that place strictly through discipline or focus. That is interesting to me. I love these unpolished musical moments, that’s ’demo love’ - being present with the process allowing inspiration from surprise. It’s twilight, that haunting in-between place. While a track like this is fluid because it’s improvised, and so contrary to more familiar song structure, it holds space for that real time rise of emotion and just ‘letting yourself’. Sometimes you have to sacrifice perfection for passion, and character.
For what it’s worth I feel there are many more ways to enjoy and value music beyond what streaming services and mainstream radio make room for and attune our ears to. Thank you STW for the invitation to share as expanding conversations around the value in-and-of music is very welcome, especially at these times.
This year we’ve chosen to split profits from the release between two charities, both of whom are doing important work within their respective fields.
The first charity is London-based organisation You Make It, a creative programme that offers young women access to tools, networks and experiences — group learning, 1-1 mentoring, work experience, start-up support and 1-1 pastoral support — giving them the confidence to transform their lives through personal empowerment.
The second is Nigeria-based initiative Project Protect, a subdivision of Burna Boy’s charitable NGO The Reach, launched to help provide financial, medical and legal resources for EndSars protestors during and after the protests.
Moodymann creates innovative soul funky music with deep 70s inspiration. The vocals are simply outstanding. A step back in time, 50 years ago! Superb. jef37

The long-awaited debut LP from Oakland-via-Chicago DJ and producer Nate Manic is a soulful, groovy trip through acid, house, and techno. Bandcamp New & Notable May 4, 2021
Like so many others, this came like a bolt out of the blue and, even though it's well before payday, I had to have this astonishing album on vinyl to prove it exists. The feel of the tunes makes me feel like the Impressions do, Curtis Mayfield, the big spaces and instinctive horns and stuff drifting in and out. Great grooves and I can see lots of ghosts nodding along to this with big smiles on their faces. At last! Anthony Cottrell
